Abstract
SummaryPediatric nephrologists and critical care physicians are faced with a heterogeneous patient population with varied epidemiology caring for children with acute kidney injury or other diseases that may require renal replacement therapy provision. We have composed 4 detailed case scenarios to highlight the challenges and interdisciplinary approach required for optimal care provision to children, and that serve to direct the different articles contained in this special issue of Seminars of Nephrology devoted to acute kidney injury in children.
