Abstract
SummaryAnnually over 100 million babies are born worldwide and 700 000 in the UK. More than 1 million babies die each year globally of asphyxia and up to 10% may need some resuscitation. Training of those likely to attend deliveries worldwide might decrease the incidence of adverse outcomes. All those attending deliveries in the UK should be trained in neonatal resuscitation.
