Abstract
Highlight•We compared the growth pattern during infancy in 59 VLBW children between with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and without.•VLBW children with ASD exhibited significantly less growth during early infancy.•Less growth during early infancy may serve as early signs of possible ASD in VLBW children.
