The value of p16ink4a expression by fluorescence in situ hybridization in triage for high risk HPV positive in cervical cancer screening

► The expression of p16ink4a by FISH was increased with elevation of cervical intraepithelial lesion grade. ► The expression of P16ink4a by FISH can pick up more cases with high grade lesions than cytology in high-risk HPV positive women. ► FISH detection for p16ink4a may be a potential alternative triage for high risk HPV positive women in cervical cancer screening.
