Abstract

Idiopathic hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (IHH) is an uncommon cause of male infertility. Although the incidence of IHH is about 0.025%, it has a negative effect on physical and mental health and the quality of life of patients. Hormonal treatment is the most effective therapy for IHH. So we reviewed recent progress on hormonal treatment of IHH. We introduce the different features of t testosterone supplement therapy, hCG and hMG combination therapy, hCG and FSH combination therapy, GnRH-replacement therapy, hCG therapy, anti-oestrin therapy and aromatase inhibitor therapy in promoting the development of secondary sex, maintaining sexual function and generation. And hope these experiences are beneficial for physicians to choose the most effective therapy to treat IHH patients with different conditions.
