Abstract
We present the case of a 20-week pregnancy with an ultrasound scan diagnosis of Dandy Walker variant. Confirmation of this diagnosis involves prenatal counselling of the parents, which is highly complex due to the small number of cases diagnosed and postnatal variability. Although some authors consider Dandy Walker variant to be less severe in terms of outcome, others believe it to be equally aggressive. In women not opting for legal abortion, amniocentesis can be offered, other anomalies excluded, and postnatal follow-up provided.
