Abstract
Pneumococcal peritonitis in young women with a gynecological focus is considered to be a specific category of this infection. We report a life-threatening case in a woman with infectious pelvic disease 2 months after a caesarean section. Clinical diagnosis is difficult and mortality is high. Early detection and treatment are essential.
