Abstract
SummaryThe Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a lymphotropic herpes virus with oncogenetic properties which can lead to the development of lymphomas such as Burkitt’s lymphoma (BL), Hodgkin’s lymphoma (HL), or post-transplant lymphoma. This review discusses our current understanding of lymphomagenesis in relation to EBV and the potential for targeted therapies.
