Abstract

A literature review is presented on nasomaxillary melanoma, together with a case report of a patient initially clinically diagnosed with a nasal polyp. Histologically, the lesion was poorly differentiated, and its origin could only be determined by immunohistochemical study. The tumour was removed by radical surgery. There was no recurrence, with the patient having a good quality of life for 16 months, but died after developing cerebellar metastases.
