Resultados quirúrgicos en diabéticos operados de catarata mediante la técnica de facochop

ResumenObjetivosDescribir los resultados quirúrgicos de la técnica de facochop en pacientes diabéticos operados de catarata en el centro de microcirugía ocular del Instituto Cubano de Oftalmología Ramón Pando Ferrer.MétodoSe realizó un estudio retrospectivo descriptivo durante el período de un año.ResultadosEl sexo femenino fue el más representado, con mayor incidencia en pacientes de 70 y más años, las cataratas corticales y subcapsulares posteriores fueron más frecuentes, la agudeza visual mejor corregida (AVMC) que predominó durante el preoperatorio fue de 0.4 a 0.6, y en el postoperatorio fue de 0.7 a 1, la rotura de cápsula posterior fue la complicación más frecuente en el transoperatorio y la endotelitis en el postoperatorio; como promedio la pérdida celular fue poca.ConclusionesLa técnica quirúrgica de facochop muestra resultados beneficiosos, con mejoría visual evidente, mínima incidencia de complicaciones y de pérdida celular endotelial.

ObjectivesDescribe the results of the facochop cataract surgery in diabetic patient in ocular microsurgery center of the Cuban Institute of Opthalmology Ramón Pando Ferrer.MethodA retrospective descriptive of transversal study during a period of one year.ResultsFemale were the most represented, with the highest incidence in patient aged 70 years and over, cortical and posterior subcapsular were the types of cataract most frequent, the best correction visual acuity in the preoperative moment predominated was of 0.4 to 0.6 and in the postoperative moment predominated was the 0.7 to 1.0. Respect to complications the posterior capsule rupture was the most frecuent complication in the preoperative and endothelitis in the postoperative period. The average of cell loosed was few.ConclusionsThe facochop surgical technique shows beneficial results, with obvious visual improvement, low incidence of complications and few endothelial cell losses.
