Cuerpo extraño intraorbitario orgánico. Presentación de un caso clínico

RESUMENLos traumatismos orbitarios constituyen un importante problema de salud en la actualidad, un porciento elevado de pacientes que han presentado algún traumatismo en la cavidad orbitaria, globo ocular y sus anexos, desarrollan afectación de la visión y secuelas estéticas. El diagnóstico y manejo de estos pacientes en no pocas ocasiones es sencillo. En este trabajo se presentó un caso clínico con cuerpo extraño orgánico intraorbitario, con un cuadro clínico confuso y una evolución favorable. Se describió el comportamiento de la permanencia en órbita del cuerpo extraño. Se concluyó que el cuerpo extraño intraorbitario continúa siendo un problema diagnóstico difícil. La sintomatología depende de su tamaño, naturaleza y velocidad de impacto en la órbita. La tomografía axial computarizada es la modalidad de imagen primaria y considerada como la regla de oro para el estudio de la órbita.

ABSTRACTOrbital traumatisms constitute an important health problem present days, a higher rate of patients that have been suffering any traumatism in the orbit cavity, the eye ball and its annexes develop a vision affectation of the eye sight and aesthetic results. Diagnose and management of these patients is not simple. In this paper was presented a history of a patient with an organic intraorbital foreing body. It showed a confused diagnosis, but fortunately it has a favored evolution. Also was described the behavior of permanency of it foreign body in orbit. To sum up, it was stated that the wooden intraorbital foreing body continue being a difficult diagnose problem. The symptoms depend of it size, nature and velocity of impact in the orbit. The computed axial tomography is still the main image study and it is considered the golden rule for the study of the orbit.
