RésuméLa diffusion des prothèses totales du poignet est limitée par ses indications et ses complications. La complexité du poignet rend difficile l'élaboration d'un implant respectant la biomécanique articulaire. Le plus souvent les séries sont courtes et le recul est peu important. La plupart des implants conservent les principes de cette articulation, mais la fixation reste le principal problème à résoudre.

The indications and the complications of the total wrist prostheses limited its diffusion. The complexity of the wrist joint improve the conception of the implant who respected the biomechanics. The experience and the follow-up are too short. All implants respect the wrist biomechanics, but the carpus' fixation is the main cause of loosening.
