Abstract
SummaryTibialis posterior dysfunction is the commonest cause of adult acquired flat foot. Although awareness is increasing, the diagnosis is frequently missed and referral for specialist treatment delayed. Early treatment with simple orthotic devices can often prevent progression. This review outlines the diagnosis, treatment and surgical outcomes, and highlights controversies and recent advances.
