Abstract
Stress fractures are not uncommon in ballet dancers. They generally involve the lower limbs, particularly the tibia in men and the 2nd metatarsal in women. Other localizations are exceptional. More or less sudden-onset neck and shoulder pain when executing a pas-de-deux evokes a possible stress fracture of the first rib, particularly when difficult lifting techniques are imposed by complicated choreographies.
