Abstract
We present the case of fracture-dislocation of the second metacarpal and a dislocation of the metacarpophalangeal joint (floating second metacarpal) combined with a fracture of the fourth metacarpal occurred in a 29-year-old man. We report the mechanism of injury and management of this uncommon injury. The “floating second metacarpal” and the third metacarpal fracture were reduced and fixed by percutaneous pinnig. Twelve months later, the patient had a full range of wrist and finger movement and he was pain-free.
