Abstract
Superior labrum anterior to posterior (SLAP) tears were likely underappreciated before the advent of shoulder arthroscopy and contemporary magnetic resonance imaging techniques. A body of literature exists that guides both the diagnosis and treatment of SLAP lesions. This article summarizes our current knowledge of the diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes of SLAP lesions. We describe, in detail, our arthroscopic SLAP repair technique for type I through type IV SLAP lesions.
