Abstract
Rehabilitation following shoulder stabilization surgery allows the patient to regain the proper balance of mobility and stability. Range of motion (ROM) should be restored through progressive stretching and repetitive ROM activities. Neuromuscular and proprioception training are utilized to enhance strength and motor control with an emphasis on control of end ranges of motion. Proper balance of the musculature is emphasized with extra consideration paid to the rotator cuff. A physical therapy program designed to address these issues typically leads to favorable and functional outcomes.
