Abstract
Arthrodesis of the first metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joint is used to treat a variety of conditions. Several fusion techniques have been described in the literature, each striving for a rigid construct to ensure fusion. Our preferred technique incorporates the use of the convex- and concave-type reamers for bone preparation and stabilization with a dorsal precontoured MTP joint-specific plate (Acumed, Hillsboro, OR).
