Abstract
Hallux rigidus is the most common form of osteoarthritis of the foot. Arthrodesis of the first metatarsophalangeal joint has been a well-accepted surgical option for advanced hallux rigidus. The surgical approach, postoperative care, and a review of the pertinent published articles are presented in this article.
