Abstract
Reconstruction has become a common, safe, and very effective treatment for the ruptured anterior cruciate ligament. During the past 3 decades there have been numerous advancements in the treatment of this very common injury. Although there is still debate over the best treatment, here we present our preferred approach to anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. The following describes a single-bundle reconstruction with the use of predominantly bone-patellar tendon-bone graft. The technique is based on the medial portal technique vs transtibial for femoral tunnel placement. In addition, a brief overview of augmentation technique is also described.
