Hip arthroscopy has recently increased in popularity as a tool for the diagnostic management of intra-articular hip pathology and femoroacetabular impingement syndrome. Safe and accurate access to the hip joint is of the utmost importance when performing hip arthroscopy, and the placement of portals is a key component of safe and successful arthroscopic surgery.
