Abstract
Patello-femoral arthrosis is common but poorly understood and its pathophysiology and even clinical significance remain controversial. The aetiology, diagnosis and management are reviewed. To achieve a successful treatment outcome it is vital to differentiate between global and patello-femoral knee arthrosis, requiring careful clinical and radiological assessment before selecting appropriate treatment for each patient.
