Abstract
The steady increase in young athletes participating in sports combined with increased time and intensity of training, has led to a substantial rise in knee injuries. The unique physiology and anatomy of the growing athlete place them at risk of developing predictable injury patterns around the knee. We review the anatomy, pathophysiology, clinical evaluation, workup and treatment of common injuries affecting the knee of the growing athlete.
