Abstract
The case of a 52-year old, overweight women diagnosed of right hemispheric cerebral stroke is described. Within her rehabilitation program, the Rehabilitation Department staff made a KAFO in glass fiber for temporary use. This orthosis provided the following advantages: material that is accessible in the hospital that is light and adaptable to the patient's body; rapid to make -one hour- and immediate use -24 hours-; easy to place and remove; reduction of knee flexing in sitting and walking; initiation of sitting and early walking; and contribution to rehabilitation of the heminegligence.
