Abstract
Acetabular bone deficiency in revision total hip arthroplasty is one of the most technically demanding and difficult procedures for an orthopedic surgeon. Acetabular reconstruction for Paprosky type IIB, type IIIA, and type IIIB used to require bulk allograft for reconstruction. We currently are using trabecular metal augments to obtain biological ingrowth and support for reconstructing these defects.
