Abstract
The young active patient with advanced glenohumeral degenerative joint disease represents an extremely challenging problem to treat. Humeral head resurfacing with biologic interposition arthroplasty has become a popular option to preserve bone stock and avoid early glenoid loosening in this population. Modern techniques and newer prosthetic designs of total shoulder arthroplasty implants challenges these previous concerns. The goal of resurfacing is to provide the patient with predicable pain relief and improved function.
