Abstract
Posterior cervical foraminotomy is a safe and highly effective approach to treating single-level soft, lateral disc herniations causing foraminal stenosis and nerve root impingement. This procedure can be performed using standard open or minimally invasive techniques, with the use of either the operating microscope or the endoscope. The surgical technique is described in detail and the indications, contraindications, and complication avoidance are discussed.
