Abstract

This review focuses on the laminoplasty technique and the associated indications and contraindications that can help the clinician select the appropriate patient to allow for a successful outcome. Also, common positioning and intraoperative techniques are reported that can help the surgeon perform a successful procedure. Finally, common postoperative surgical complications are highlighted and strategies to avoid them are also discussed.
