Abstract
The treatment of patients with degenerative lumbar spondylosis and scoliosis represents a significant challenge for the physician in the best circumstances. The presence of osteoporosis is a frequent comorbid condition that can complicate the surgical and nonsurgical treatment of these patients. With careful attention to biomechanical principles and the use of advanced surgical techniques, one can obtain good results for these patients on a reliable basis.
