Abstract
Over the last decade, the utilization of vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty procedures in the treatment of osteoporotic and other pathologic fractures of the thoracolumbar spine has exploded. Generally, these procedures are well tolerated and associated with relatively low complication rates. Serious complications, however, do occur with both procedures.
