Abstract
SummaryAfter ankylosis of a finger has occurred, it is often difficult to restore joint mobility. We report a two-stage arthroplasty procedure for correcting ankylosis of the metacarpophalangeal joint, which involved joint distraction to extend the soft tissues, followed by costal osteochondral autografting. After 9 years of follow-up, the results are acceptable.
