Abstract
The transotic and transcochlear approaches to structures deep in the temporal bone and beyond require a detailed understanding of the complex anatomy as well as the indications to undertake such an approach. The challenge in creating an effective corridor to reach the pathology that is safe and causes the least damage to surrounding structures while allowing extirpation of the disease is no better demonstrated in performing this surgery.
