Abstract
The subtemporal preauricular approach to the infratemporal fossa (ITF) is ideal in the surgical exposure and resection of any lesion, benign or malignant, which involves the ITF and adjacent regions. This approach to the ITF affords access to this area without loss of conductive hearing. The indications, technique and its modifications, as well as the potential complications of this approach are discussed.
