Abstract
Fibro-osseus and cartilaginous lesions of the craniofacial region including the temporal bone are uncommon. Diagnosis of these lesions can be challenging due to overlapping clinical, radiologic, and pathologic features. This article discusses the diagnostic features of several fibro-osseus lesions of the temporal bone including: fibrous dysplasia, osteoma, osteoblastoma, chondroblastoma, giant cell tumor, osteosarcoma, chondrosarcoma, and otospongiosis.
