Abstract
While challenging, surgery to repair congenital aural atresia can be successful in the carefully selected patient. This article describes the preoperative evaluation, surgical technique, and postoperative care that have evolved to produce the most favorable results for patients undergoing surgical repair of aural atresia. Results and complications of surgery and their management are also reviewed.
