Abstract
Minimally invasive radioguided parathyroidectomy (MIRP) is a small incision, outpatient procedure which is directed to identifying and excising the offending parathyroid gland(s) which result in hyperparathyroidism. The technique can be replicated by well-trained surgeons and can result in consistent achievement of biochemical cures of hyperparathyroidism. The procedure is safe, efficient, and results in a high degree of patient satisfaction. This article will outline the indications for and application of the MIRP procedure.
