Abstract
Cosmetic rejuvenation of the upper eyelid has been an area of continual advancement in surgical knowledge during the past century, with evolution in technique as well as esthetic canons. Outcome ideals have evolved from popular overoperated-appearing results to an emphasis on more natural- and nonsurgical-appearing eyelid rejuvenation. Cosmetic upper lid blepharoplasty is one of the most frequently requested and performed facial rejuvenation procedures and is an elective procedure to improve the esthetic appearance of the eyelids. The keys to successful upper-eyelid surgery are careful facial analysis, a thoughtfully conceived surgical plan, and meticulous operative technique.
