Abstract
Imaging of the pediatric airway is complex and may be crucial, especially when obstruction is suspected. The anatomic differences in the pediatric airway make this population prone to airway obstruction when compared to adults. The correct choice of imaging modality as well as appropriate positioning are keys to providing maximal anatomic detail and rapid information about the patient's airway. This article discusses the principle of imaging of the pediatric airway and presents the imaging of common congenital, inflammatory/infectious, and acquired entities found in the pediatric population.
