Abstract
Since the first description of gain-of-function mutations of the genes KIT and PDGFRA in GISTs, we have learned a lot on their diagnostic, prognostic and predictive value. This review will summarize the mutations found in GISTs in different clinical settings, and will focus on their clinical impact in daily routine diagnostics.
