Abstract
Group A Streptococcus is a major cause of global death and morbidity. There has been much focus on the resurgence of severe and invasive forms in industrialized countries but most morbidity results from the non-suppurative sequelae of childhood infection in resource poor settings. Penicillin remains the main stay of treatment and prevention. In this article, we review the treatment of the varied manifestations of Group A streptococcal infection in childhood.
