Abstract
Mixed states have become specifiers of affective episodes in the new DSM-5, a circumstance that will very likely allow a better detection in daily clinical practice. Herein we present a clinical case where manic and depressive symptoms were observed simultaneously, requiring addition of an atypical antipsychotic as asenapine for a complete clinical remission.
