Abstract
Leigh's disease is a clinically heterogenous and infrequent disorder with variable inheritance. The disease results from a genetic defect producing deficiencies in enzyme complexes and functional disturbance of the mitochondria. Prognosis is poor and there is no effective treatment. We present the case of a 23-year-old woman with severe behavior disturbances who responded favorably to lithium therapy.
