Abstract
Bone metastasis are frequent in lung cancer, occuring in 40% of patients either at the time of diagnosis or during the course of the illness. Skeletal related events represent diverse complications of bone metastasis, shorten the survival and are considered as the principal tool for measurement of the efficacy of treatments. Specific treatments given more often in a palliative than curative intent such as radiotherapy, orthopedic surgery, interventional radiology and bone targeted agents can be associated in order to control pain, avoid pathologic fractures or spinal cord compression and preserve autonomy. These methods are reviewed with reference to some prognostic scores which can help decision making. Chemotherapy and opioid medications are not described in this work.
