Abstract
Malignant pleural mesothelioma is a cancer on the rise which the morbidity and mortality is high with relatively low median survival. The diagnosis is often made late. It is now clearly recognized that asbestos is the major risk factor for developing mesothelioma which identifies at-risk populations. There is currently no targeted screening of thèse populations due to lack of sufficient effïcacy of diagnostic tools available. We will read in this paper what could be new approaches for the détection of mesothelioma and the value of early diagnosis in the management of this disease.
