Abstract
Pleural effusion in cancers are frequent source of discomfort and affect the quality of life of patients. To prevent their recurrence local treatment options are multiple (pleural puncture, surgical pleurodesis, ambulatory pleural catheter, chest tube and talc pleurodesis). We will review pros and cons of these different techniques and current guidelines to assist the clinician in his therapeutic choices.
