Abstract
Supportive care is of utmost importance in oncology patients. It includes the totality of treatments and measures allowing patients to better tolerate anti-cancer treatments and thus preserves patient quality of life. Given the preponderance of cisplatin in chemotherapy currently proposed to patients, anemia and chemo-induced digestive troubles are frequent problems in thoracic oncology. Anemia in a neoplastic context is most often multifactorial. Amongst available treatments, erythropoiesis stimulating agents are prescribed according to medical societies' recommendations. The place of iron supplementation in association with such treatments is still controversial. As with anemia, the treatment of chemo-induced nausea and vomiting is based upon guidelines which favor primary prophylaxis of digestive troubles.
