Abstract
In healthy subjects, the effect of endurance training of respiratory muscles improves exercise performance. In the field of neuromuscular diseases, the training effect is evaluated by measuring the strength, fatigability and incremental muscle endurance. Current practice emphasizes ambulatory training methods. Recommendations on training modalities depend on the anatomical level of injury and proof of efficiency seem to be only moderate in some diseases.
