Abstract
The treatment of bone metastases in lung cancer patients is an emerging issue because bone metastases are an early event and because the metastatic phase is prolonged by systemic therapies. The aim of the treatment is both disease control and the preservation of the functional status. This goal is reached by the means of local treatments, such as surgery, irradiation, cementoplasty, and systemic treatments, either anticancer agents or anti-osteoclastic agents. Optimized treatment of bone metastases is early and preventive to avoid fractures or neurologic complications. The development of new multidisciplinary teams dedicated to bone metastases reflects the increasing importance and complexity of these frequent clinical situations.
