Abstract
Carcinogenesis is characterized by an imbalance of cell homeostasis associated with defective apoptosis resulting in a gain of cells, giving rise to the concept of cellular immortality. But there are other alternative cell death pathways to apoptosis which challenge this paradigm. The cancer cell is it really immortal ?
