Abstract
A second session, more precisely dedicated to Obesity hypoventilation syndrome and overlap syndrome, pointed out their physiopathological characteristics, with a specific involvement of the Leptin release in the development of hypoventilation in obese patients. The therapeutic strategies for these two diseases rely on continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), while non invasive ventilation should be restricted to patients with remaining diurnal hypercapnia or nocturnal hypoventilation under CPAP.
